First Day of Service Stars!

Welcome back to our returning Service Stars families, and a big welcome to all of our new families! We’re so excited to have you with us. We’ll be referring to our Tuesday students as the Blue Stars moving forward!

We had such a great first day! Our Blue Stars did an amazing job after a long day at school and a long weekend, and we were already so impressed by their listening skills and enthusiasm.

We started with some name and get-to-know-you games before learning all about Service Stars, what community service means, and why giving back is important. We also created our Classroom Promise, which will be displayed in our classroom all year as a reminder of how we want to treat one another and our community.

We then talked about food insecurity and how we can help neighbors who may need extra support. The kids put this into action by making snack bags to donate to local preschools that welcome snack donations. They also decorated special bag tags to go on the bags!

We also enjoyed some playground time and had a wonderful first day building our Blue Star community.

We’re already so proud of our Blue Stars and can’t wait for next week, when we’ll be assembling kindness kits to spread kindness throughout our community!
